Post Graduate Training/Experience:

Sherif is specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for over 25 years experience who is currently working as a Senior Consultant at Christchurch Women’s Hospital. Sherif is endoscopic (key-hole) lead surgeon at Christchurch Women’s Hospital for various types of gynaecological problems. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Otago.

Sherif completed his post-graduate training and his medical research work in the UK. Sherif is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the UK Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Sherif has received a high level of training in general gynaecology with advanced Endoscopic and Robotic surgical skills in highly recognised training units in the UK, Europe and Australia. This was consolidated by obtaining a Diploma in Gynaecological operative endoscopic surgery, France and Master degree in infertility and reproductive medicine,UK, in addition to being a Fellow of International College of Surgeons. Sherif undertook one of the largest research project in endometrial ablation of over 1000 women in UK.

Sherif possess strong expertise in endoscopic, robotic surgery and subfertility surgeries. Strong background in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of women’s diseases, especially related to female reproductive system. Possess strong expertise in Pelvic pain / Extensive endometriosis; Infertility; Skilled in IVF units and complex reconstructive related subfertility tubal and ovarian surgeries; Laparoscopic / robotic / Hysteroscopic removal of fibroids; Total or Subtotal Laparoscopic Hysterectomy and Endometrial ablation; Laparoscopic reconstructive surgery for vaginal prolapse and sling procedures. In addition to his training in gynaecological ultrasound scan.
Sherif demonstrated success in delivering considerate healthcare services to women, promote gender equality, and healthy lives, and wellbeing for all ages. Dedicated, and committed individual with solid aptitude to stay calm in emergency situations. Proven to be focused and reliable in high-pressure situations requiring accurate and efficient organisational skills.
